Sketching on a plane...
-
Hello,
I'm new to sketchup. I've experience with Solidworks.
Now i wanted to draw a shape in sketchup on the same plane as the little circle... Now each time I want to draw something it comes on the plane of the cuboid... How can I select in sketchup that I want to create a drawing on the same plane (surface) as the little circle...

Hi Tyuro and welcome!
If you hover over a face for a while, you will get a dark blue inference saying "On face". If you press (and hold) the Shift key now, your drawing will be forced on that plane only.
This works with many tools and many other inference types, too.

Generally you can't.
My 2Dtools let you draw on a constrained 2d plane in plan, but to constrain thing on a 3d plane you need to use the built-in axis inference tools [+shift] - e.g. lock to axis - and the various other 'inference tools' to refer/lock to a face etc...

Awesome! It worked! Thank you very much

TIG, I guess Tyuro wanted to draw on the face of the circle (2D) not on the surface of the cylinder (3D)
