Someone must have asked this before:

Is there a way I can choose the unit for the "Generate Report" function found under the file menu?

My reports always come out with inches as the units, regardless of the units I've set for the model.

Can't you set the units to meters in the editor ?

You mean, convert the units to meters in Excel, where I open the CSV report?

This is my current solution. I'm just wondering if there's away to set the units before the report is generated.

NO - you can set the units in the attributes to start with ❓

If you're talking about Model Info > Units, that's where I have set the units I want.

Even if I have set the units to meters, the resulting report that's generated from File > Generate Report displays all the units in inches. Do you get a different result?

                No.
Unfortunately the built-in attributes like LenX are always reported in SUp's native units = inches - BUT you can add hidden matching DC attributes like _lenz which convert the LenZ to meters [LenZ!*0.0254] and report/show those instead.
Alternatively dynamically link your raw CSV file into another formatted XLS file and have column retitling, conversion factors etc in the appropriate column cells to auto-change into meters ? This way is probably your easiest option.

I am sort of starting to hope that we had a separate Metric version of Sketchup. The present situation is that the majority of users have to cope with a shoddy translation system added to an odd medieval system of measures that bounces on you whenever you turn your back.
