Trouble with a bend transformation
-
I am trying to create a handle for a cabinet I am rendering. I have drawn the profile or 3 different ways but can't seem to get the bends I need. Any advice for this serious newbie???
Thanks in advance for your help!
Here is a link to a photo of the handle.

Rather than trying to bend it why not draw in plan and two elevations and extrude the forms and intersect them to make a rough form [as it's symmetrical initially you can make it a component as a half and scale -1 to see both parts - edit one the other adjusts too].
When you have this rough form chamfer/round some edges and smooth etc until it suits - don't over detail as it's unlikely it'll be seen very close to anyway ! Finally combine both halves together into one... -
Thank you both for your feedback. I am getting some reasonable results. I guess it is just the closet perfectionist in me...LOL. You are correct about no one looking to close at it but it these first designs have allowed me to learn many of this programs features and wow my clients. It is wonderful that there is such a supportive and active community available to support those of us who are just getting our feet wet.
Thank you both again!

So... after monkeying around a bit here is what I came up with. I am not unhappy with the result but still would love to round the corners further... tried the follow me too and the round edges plugin but not the results I was looking for (again that evil little devil on my shoulder. On the model it is never going to be seen in the detail it is drawn but I will know it is there. hahahaha
Thanks again!

But it still has 775 entities ! - probably more that the cupboard it's fixed to !!
If the multiple use of these [and other bits] doesn't kill your comfortable use of your models then it's OK... otherwise you should simplify it a bit... -
I made a handle quite easily using Curviloft, just create the profile at the end of the handle and at the middle, draw the curve you want between those two profiles, then use "create loft following given path and you have half a handle. Make two and join them and add your end bits.
Yes it makes for a large file size, but it makes a nice handle.
