Very Basic Indigo Questions (possibly Mac specific)
-
I am sure this is a very silly question. I know that applications are wired to look in specific places for specific names, so I don't want to muck it up by putting things in the wrong place, so where do you put all the bits of Indigo on a Mac?
After I downloaded the .dmg file, I wasn't sure where to put all the pieces. If the .dmg volume had only contained the application, I would have moved that to my apps folder, or if all of it were contained in a folder, I would have moved the whole folder to my apps. However, it contains all of the following separately:
Example scenes
Indigo Material Editor.app
Indigo Network Client.app
Indigo.app
License.txtDo I put each separately into my App folder or do I create an Indigo folder inside my App folder?
I'd been running it from the .dmg volume, and it seemed to run fine from there, but eventually it ran out of room (I think) and I got the following message:
%(#0000FF)[A problem occurred with the scene:
Failed to save IGI: Failed to open file '/Volumes/Indigo/Indigo.app/Contents/Resources/renders/im1279316022.igi_temp' for writing.
Please contact support@indigorenderer.com.](I did contact support@indigorenderer.com, but got no response after a week.)
I don't know where to get things and where to save them as it goes along. I don't know where this "temp" place is that it is looking for: *'/Volumes/Indigo/Indigo.app/Contents/Resources/renders/im1279316022.igi_temp'*for writing.)
Sorry for the long ramble. Please be patient with me. I am not very intuitive, but I can follow directions. Please let me know where to move the contents of the .dmg volume. I was getting very excited about it, but now I'm stuck.
With many thanks,

Hi,
You should not create an Indigo folder inside your Applications folder. Drag and drop the .app files directly into your applications folder. The license file you can put where you like.
Don't run Indigo from the dmg volume.
Please let me know if you are still having problems running Indigo after this.
Thanks!
