Intersect Cleanup Plugin ?
-
Does anyone know of a plugin that deletes the lines that intersect creates after one no longer needs them ?
-
I hate to say it, but SU comes with this plugin installed:
You'll need to do it manually, but you can eliminate a lot of the tedious work by deleting the faces and then deleting enough edges to make sure they aren't forming a full loop; then use the "eliminate lonely segments" plugin. Goes much quicker than the tedious work of deleting every single edge left behind.

Or BoolTools? $10 from Smustard...

What exactly do you mean by this? There might be some tricks - could you attach a simple example beforeyou do the intersection?

Sketchup isn't psychic - only you know what you want to keep and what you want to throw away.
BoolTools
will help automate this for you... but again you'll have to give it some clues -
Here's the file after I cleaned it up. After creating the frame parts with bead I needed to intersect to create the mitres. What I did was hide the component parts, then bounded all the squiggly intersect lines and right clicked and erase.Just looking for an easier way I guess.Beaded Face Frame.skp

You can hide the rest of the model whilst editing a component [under edit menu] that way you can see what you are doing and more easily erase unwanted overlaps from the 'intersection with model', by hand...
