my project is to create an batiment , and on the facade of the batiment i would like to have an customized steel grid covered with vegetal , for the vegetal it is ok i have an plugin for that
but for the grid thow i can generate it like this
for exemple this is the gread (extern skin) that i would like to generate
but on a big big size (2 floor ) batiment

why don't you just model 1 section and then use multiple move/copy?

it is not an proper work i think ..dont forget that i will render it after so no much compenent to be easy to manipulate the file

if you're not familiar with sketchup maybe you could try some simpler things first to get understanding?

For a simple form with flat facades I'd make each face a group and edit that.
Use the tapemeasure tool to make guide lines at the various mullion centers and lines/angles desired.
Draw lines right across the face[s] to break it up into facets.
Select all of the facets and run a tool like 'windowizer.rb' to make the frames/glass.
This lets you make irregular forms. You can also ensure that you have usable quad faces.If the surface is to be curved then make each facade using the EEbyLattice tool.
Again group each facade in turn to keep things simple and geometry separated
EEbyLattice needs sides to work from that are 'curves' [i.e. arcs, Beziers or any continuous non-branching lines welded into a 'curve' = 'polyline'].
Use 'weld.rb' to make the selected lines into curves.
Tip, for 'straight' 'curves' draw a line, select it and divide it as needed and immediately weld the still highlighted bits into a curve.
Try and keep the curves with the same number of segments each.
Curves surfaces will only take frames in triangles as their four corners are non-coplanar - however, if there are coplanar edges in the mesh these are highlighted and you are given the option to erase them before frames are made so the minimum number of glazing-bars are made...
The sills/heads/jambs withh ne formed by each segment of edge forming the respective curve.
The inner transoms and mullions are made from 'node-to-node' within the form, adjusted to suit their locations etc...
So - make four curves - one for the 'profile' [say the 'horizontal' bottom sill-line], two for the rail1 [say the left 'vertical' corner], three for the rail2 [say the right 'vertical' corner] and four the melding-profile [say the top 'head' lines].
Run EEbyLattice and pick them in turn - answer the questions and the mesh will be made with frames and glass as specified... -

i have worked with sketchup and always work with it but i like the clean work ! )please let the other helping me , because i dont have the time to learn now , i should do ! only
