Export Layout to PowerPoint
-
I use SU and LO pretty much exclusively for my landscape architectural practice. However, my clients don't use LO (obviously!), so whilst it is ok to give presentations from my computer, the difficulty comes when I need to hand over a CD or DVD with the presentation (for them to present to internal clients). One solution of course is to save the entire file as a PDF, so that they can scroll through each page, but what may be better would be a way to export the LO document to PowerPoint.
I'm not a computer whizz, and I suspect what I'm suggesting is near-on impossible, but it would be a useful plugin to have! -
Well, what you could do is to export the pages as image files and make a PP presentation from those.
However I would also like to see a "LO Viewer" (just like we have a SU Viewer) with presentation and maybe even markup possibilities.
The SU Viewer (now as there is the free SU), is completely redundant and obsolete but an LO Viewer would be very much needed.

Thanks Gaieus - creating images is something I thought of doing, but not ideal! Yes a LO viewer would be great!

I'm with LandsArchitect. The export to Powerpoint option would be the only push I would need to go Pro. Those two programs combined would be a powerful presentation machine.

You can export a Layout file as a PDF...
Then convert that file into a PPT slide-set...
There are several inexpensive or even free apps/online services like

[recommended and free]

[online] etc -
Good ideas.
Having just recently used Keynote for the first time in a presentation (obviously not a big-guns operation here), I liked the way it focused the discussion, rather than simply looking at prints. Keynote has the same sort of pdf transition third-party software. Thanks for the suggestions.
I am not sure if print to pdf is the same for you as it is for Mac users, but it looks to be a two step process from LO on the Mac. Then you go into Keynote or PPT and put in the fancy transitions etc.
Looks like it is time for you to go Pro, Mr. Raineysky.

HaHa. I'm itching to so it wouldn't take much. Best I should wait for the next version though. My first project is nearing the end and it will be time to package it. That's when I'll know what my excact wishes really are regarding presentation software intergration.
PS: Thanks for the links TIG
