Theory on the construction of the pyramids

I've seen this site before... it's quite interesting...
It certainly avoids the massive temporary earth ramps [or "aliens did it"] ideas of some other theories...
Clearly to an ancient Egyptian it was so obvious what the best way was to build a pyramid that they never even bothered to write it down and explain it - although they left us info on millions of other useless activities !
Pity we aren't so bright as they were... -
Dear TIG,
There is an hour long programme on BBC iPlayer at the moment. Watched it the other evening.

Pity we aren't so bright as they were...Information on useless activities? like "Embalming for Dummies"? "Make It Big in the Afterlife"? For that matter I don't think anyone's really tried building another great pyramid either. Either we've found no use for THAT or no one's been able to round up enough slaves.
Intense culture and still the longest lived so far.

I figured it out long time ago. They drew a square on the ground. . .divided it diagonally. .. and then extruded it up. Duh!
And the great thing about it. . .didn't take em very long!

does it mention the recent discovery of how they may have moved the blocks?
in one of the tombs they found these strange half circle wooden blocks.
they found you could strap them to a stone block...making it into a cylinder. forget dragging it.. roll it...
wish I could find a link about it..
ah from Wiki
"Dr R H G Parry[3] has suggested a method for rolling the stones, using a cradle-like machine that had been excavated in various new kingdom temples. Four of those objects could be fitted around a block so it could be rolled easily. Experiments done by the Obayashi Corporation, with concrete blocks 0.8 m square by 1.6 m long and weighing 2.5 tons, showed how 18 men could drag the block over a 1-in-4 incline ramp, at a rate of 18 meters per minute. Vitruvius in De architectura[4] described a similar method for moving irregular weights. It is still not known whether the Egyptians used this method but the experiments indicate it could have worked using stones of this size. Egyptologists generally accept this for the 2.5 ton blocks mostly used but do not agree over the methods used for the 15+ ton and several 70-ton blocks."
