Reflexion help
-
Hi,
Who can explain if it s possible to make reflexion only on a part of a texture?
Thanx for help
-
Hi Greg,
What application (rendering program?) are you thinking about?
As you probably know, there is no way to have reflections in straight SU. However many rendering apps allow you to use a certain reflection map (where white is reflective and black is not and you can have all sorts of grey gradients in between). -
Reflection on certain parts of a texture is created by using reflection/specular maps. now depending on the render app you are using I can help.

Hi Solo,
Sorry i forgot...
i use sketchup 6 and vray 1.48.66 on xp.I wish for exemple rendering a tile whit many reflections.
You can look in the attachment, that only on part of the texture is reflective.
I try to use 2 reflections layers differents whit another map in the "M" of reflection in vray and the rendering don't change.
voila...
a lot of apologies for my very bad english. Thanks

Nobody can help me!!!
Why can we add some layers reflexion in vray?
Thanks

OK, so this is a V-ray specific question then. I am moving the topic into the V-ray subforum.
I myself do not use V-ray but I am sure there is a solution. Such layered materials can also be made in Kerkythea.

Make a greyscale mask of where you want the reflection - white means 100% reflection, black means 0%.
Add it to the Perpendicular slot of a Fresnel map in the reflection layer.
