VRay & UVmap?
-
I am completely new to VRay, I have only one question.
-
If I make a fast model using Sketchup material VRay render it without problem.
-
Likewise there is no problem with VRay material.
-
But, if I import a model with UV & textmap (Via 3ds or COLLADA) Vray ignore the material and shows only a white surface. What am I doing wrong?
?

Can you post screenshot and/or sample model?
(Also - please mention what version of VfSU you use when posting.)
-
Here is a screen shot of the model. It has 2 UV/texture maps each 4096x4096 px.
As you see Sketchup shows the model correctly. But if I render I got the second result Do I have to map the texture in any way?
The IRender nxt rendered it on the fly without problem . (But not with the same quality though)V-Ray Version 01.05.30

-
I'm very puzzled by this.
Can you also post part of the model? -
Ok, here is the model (9 MB).
-
I don't know what it is. It worked fine for me. (See attached.)
But I was using the latest VfSU - 1.48.68.Don't have 1.05.30 available right now to test.

-
Works fine on my side using 1.05.30

-
o_O
hmm...
this is an odd one...
-
Try switching off default lights in the global switches.
-
I downloaded 1.48.68 and made a little progress. Now it looks like this!
Maybe it is time to read the manual?
(I use ca 20 program and have to read them all. IRender nxt & Maxon both show acceptable result "out of the box" without having to tweak parameters. I rather spend my time with the Cinema 4D manual- thank you)

-
Ok, now it works, and with rather good results as you can see. Thank you.
I wonder how many hours/days woúld I have wasted if I had not got help?
