Protected standalone exe viewer
-
Hi all
I have a sketchup model of a house with many layers/ Does anyone know of a self executable publisher package to protect the file contents and allow the use of layers.
Most of my clients would like a all in one viewer while protecting the 3d model. I don't want to pass around the sketchup format. Zoom move print enable/disable layers would be ideal.
Anyone know of a sketchup compatible viewer with a layer menu including SU compatible export formats if need be. (dwg, dxf)
Thanks

The 3D PDF app is the only thing that might do this, that I can think of...

Go to SimLab Soft to download a free version of the SketchUp plugin, required to produce such 3D PDF files. (SU7 only, as I recall.)
Here's an example a 3D PDF file produced by the SimLab Soft plugin:
Amundsen-Scott Antarctic Station DomeTo enable/disable various layers, display the "Model Tree" and use the checkboxes.

NOTE: If you already have the SimLab Soft plugin for SketchUp, you may want to update, as a new version was released a couple of months ago, with some great new features.-Taff

you could also try edrawings. you can password protect your files and even put an expiry date on them.

Save as EXE/ZIP with Built-in Viewer
eDrawings offers a complete, self-contained communication tool since no other viewing software is needed. eDrawings files can be saved as self extracting executables and zip files that contain the viewer as well as design data for sharing & collaboration.http://edrawings.geometricglobal.com/Downloads/eDrawings+for+SketchUp/index.aspx
