Meteor explodes over Ireland
-
 Hunt is on for the Meteor which exploded over Ireland less than an hour ago. any Irish members who may have witnessed it are urged to report on the above site to help truangulare it's location. Luckily I noticed 2 glowing objects travelling at high speed heading in a northerly direction from east Clare. It seems so far this meteor had the power of an atomic bomb and emergency services all over the country were inundated with calls reporting an air accident. Please report this event if you noticed anything regards Rich

 Hmm seems like Ireland has had quite a few in the last year; http://lunarmeteoritehunters.blogspot.com/2009/09/ireland-meteormeteorite-news-bolide.html Why Ireland? Ireland isn't particularly big. An urban myth perhaps? An urban myth perhaps?

 @pilou
 I know, that must be due to the amount of people trying to access. Our broadband is still deluvered by string and cups!Thanks for showing an interest Ireland is like Doctor Who's Tardis, looks small from the outside when in fact it is actually massive! But ssssshhhhh don't tell anyone if only the south afrikaans would stop imitating us. Anyway due to the smoking ban we're outside now

 Not the best quality but I have never seen a meteorite last this long

 Meteorite hunting is a serious job that people do and make serious money at it. So if you know where it exploded, go find the bits yourself, instead of tipping off the pro hunters that travel the world looking for tidbits.

Estimated at β¬500 a gram which is above golds so whoever finds will either be very rich or, if that person has morals, be extremely generous. Hopefully the latter. @tfdesign said: I'm a quarter Irish actually , Grandma was from county Cork , Grandma was from county Cork Ah, the People's Republic of Cork, great place. Ever visited? @ everyone Thanks for all the kind responses, much appreciated
