Indeed, Thank you EarthMover! Very generous of you. A lot of hard work went into these.
-
No problem guys...just my small way of saying thanks for all I've learned from all of you.
BTW - here is a download link for a .zip file containing 21 deciduous trees and alphas. These all came from Ed Howard - http://www.howardmodels.com/0-tree/DecidiousTreesFull-112103/index.htm
I won't have time to make them into faceme components, but if someone else would like to and post them here for everyone...that would be great.
-
Wow, thank you, EarthMover. This came just in time, so I'll do it.
Almost ready. Just give me an hour...
Mmmm... forgot to explode them. Give me another hour...Ok, here they are exploded, uploading now... (this will take a while as my connection is slow and my brother is shoutcasting)
Ready:

Thank you for this fine collection! -
Well, thanks Adam (and Miguel for the conversion) again (?)
I remembered posting here but maybe I didn't. Anyway, the collection deserves a good, old "bump"!
-
Can some kind soul post them somewhere else besides rapidshare? IT has that one blocked!
Rick
-
possibly post it using humyo?

Rick
Adam, Miguel, would you mind if I uploaded them to the Warehouse?
(With full credits of course and a link to this topic - unless you want to do the hassle) -
No Problem Gaieus! Feel free!!
-
Okay, thanks.
It will take a while as the whole pack is 28Mb so cannot be uploaded in one piece (10 Mb file size limit). I think I will make a "collection" of it then post the link here.

Oh, that would be wonderful Gai!

Hi all
The collection is great!!
But if i want to render the plants, that looks bad:
What is the problem? Options? Or are the plants not make for rendering?
i use vray for sketchup.
thanks for help and tips.

fbo_bern, you need to load the alpha in the transparency slot of the diffuse material for it to render in Vray, at least till the new version is out.

I`ve been out for some time but what I have found here when I came back is just fantastic !!!
For example this 2D Landscape Plant Pack created by EarthMover with addition from Adam.
Very well done, guys !!!
Thank you very, very much EarthMover & Adam for sharing these great 2D plants...
One of the best collection I have come across so far !!!
Thanx again !!! -
Equadorian,
Are these renderings or image exports from sketchup? I ask because when I try to use them in sketchup I get a square shadow. These work great for renderings, but I'm making an AVI from sketchup and I'd like to have tree shaped shadows, not this:FYI, I'm still in the process of replacing my place holders, so nevermind the lampshades
-
Hi Jesse,
The problem with SU is that although it recognises alpha transparency, its shadows do not support it. So the general workaround is either to roughly cut around the tree shape of turn its shadows off and use a generic, shadow casting face with a transparent image applied on it.
-
I got rapidshare to work, now I have and and LOVE IT!
I really can see myself using these in the future, but one question...
Why is there logs on fire in the collection?
-
thanks for these great images .. they will be useful
wahoowetzel : u can get rid of this annoying shadow by applying the tree as a material on a plane
edit the material to add the tree then add the alpha image to the transparency ... that how u can get areal shadow . see the attached images .

Hi Shaheen
Each file gives the same "not valid" result.

Shaheen,
Better yet, the new update of Vray supports transparency from the image itself with no alpha map needed for .png or .tif. The days of making clipmaps are gone forever....I hope!
.....and THANKS for sharing the new packs!
