      Hi,
I thought I had better introduce myself. My name is Jennifer (http://www.jenniferglover.co.uk) and I am often asked to "hand draw" (yes, it still happens!!) exhibitions or installations but I now have a project that requires me to tentatively produce 3D visuals.

I work on a Dual 1.8 Mac running 10.5.8 and normally produce my graphics using the Adobe Creative Suite. I having been trying to learn as much as I can on the free version of SketchUp using IDX Renditioner over the last few months but I am probably at the stage where I need to take the next leap.

I am really interested in starting to put some more plugins into Sketchup and particularly build some vehicles / cars that need to go in my model – this seems like the perfect place to start / get some advice!

      Jennifer

        Welcome

You don't need to make everything from scratch - For example 3Dwarehouse will have lots of cars [of varying quality] you can download and use or adjust as needed and there are other sites too - e.g. FormFonts is an inexpensive pay-site with many high-quality cars.
Here there are threads and links about cars too - use the Search facility e.g. http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=79&t=24727&p=212035&hilit=cars#p212035

          Hi TIG,

Thank you. I have already downloaded lots of cars from the warehouse but I am getting to the point where I need to make something of my own. I thought I would try your intermediate tutorial next, wish me luck!
