How to choose the correct renderer????**
-
am i the only one who find's this AD offensive? its an irender AD posing as a tutorial to help SU users. should be removed IMO, until it is changed to properly represent itself. i can't stand sneeky advertising, unfortunatly the internet seems to have reinvented it and refined it to an art form!

um Rocky, you have an advertised render engine in your signature.
-
lol. Touché! He does have a wee bit of a point, though.

For me the difference is, that 'Rocky' isn't part of any render application team or crew... He just have a passion for a particular render app...
(I, however, can't comment on this, since my view will be biased... ) -
Rocky, you forced me to temporarily allow scripts from buysellads.com just to see what you're talking about. Talking about "correct" is kinda ironic seeing the rest of the ad.
No offense intended; as a non-native speaker of English I know I make lots of mistakes, too, but if I were paying to publish something, I would double-check it first. -
Like miguel, I run NoScript so this Ad wasn't visible. Personally I don't find it in anyway offensive. But I agree that it is playing with words. Any Ad that causes 'Viewers' to click is then successfully achieving it's goal.
Ads, whether they be misleading or not, are what let this site function.
Could you imagine a life without SketchUworld?
PS Twilight certainly does rock! As does Vray, Vue, KT, iRender, Podium etc... But only in the right hands

i'm not bothered by the fact that they advertise, what bothers me is that they mislead new users and try to take advantage of people who don't know any better. if it said "irender for SU is the correct choice" etc.. i would have no problem, but it even made me click on it thinking it might be informative, and i don't even like that renderer!

I agree, it's not helpful information. just a sneaky irender advert.
I'm sick of all these irender "tutorials" to be honest, they are not helpful and relate only to certain features within irender (which every other app has too, but called something different). They kinda trick new users into believing irender is the only solution for sketchup. they make out as if other solutions are inferior. ah well.

look at the new irender nxt advert! the cheek! using arroway to promote.
so can you not use arroway textures with other apps?
wording suggests you can not!
render propaganda!

- Everybody else would understand that they are just advertising that their application now also supports loading this texture library.

The current ad at the top of my page says:
Does this mean you cannot create 3D models, HD images or videos unless you use the Concept 3D Self Service?
-
Also, let me apologize, (in advance, but definitely "tounge-in-cheek" ), for the PixPlant thread as well:
I did not mean to imply that PixPlant can only be used with certain renderers. I suspect that the PixPlant images can be used with most modern renderers.
