You can use the "Power Tools" which has a Profile Builder included. It is not free.

For free, you could draw the profiles manually and use the existing tools in SketchUp. It seems to me that if one needs the capabilities of Profile Builder, it would pay for itself in short order. Especially for those who put any sort of value on their time.

If you model a lot of profile-based geometry as part of your job, ProfileBuilder will pay for itself in a day or less. πŸ˜„

I hope you don't feel insulted by me asking what I asked(it wasn't my intention) Since there are tons of plugins out there I thought maybe somebody had something similar already. No, I don't do profile-based geometry as part of my job. I guess that IS the reason why i don't want to pay for the plugin. But your plugin is so amazing that i wouldn't be surprise if i buy it, lol. You have the right to CHARGE for your talent and I have the right to SHOP for the best deal πŸ˜†

Loaded SU 7.1, I like it, but although Profilebuilder is showing as ticked in the Preferences /Plug-ins window it does not appear in the menu for use.I'm on Mac OS 10.5.
Anyone else got this problem ?

Try installing it in: yourname/library/application support/google sketchup 7/sketchup/plugins

A handful of plugins only work in this folder on the Mac.

Thanks Dylan, I've given that a go and no luck! The strange thing is that all was fine with SU7

I think there is a bug in SU7.1 with plugins that register themselves as Extensions. I hope this issue is resolved by the SU team right away. If anyone knows a workaround please let us know! πŸ˜„

hmmm, it works fine for me (su7.1 / osx10.5.8)

so yeah, profile builder isn't broken with mac su7.1 but i really wouldn't know where to begin with helping you troubleshoot.

have you tried reinstalling profile builder? maybe something got moved around during the upgrade?

didn't i see a printout of all the prifiles somewhere? i could really use one so i don't have to go through them 1 by 1. 😲

BTW Whaat, any progress on the next versions of your awsome plugs?

                              Hi xrok,

I made a lot of progress early this year on SDS2 but it's been on hiatus for awhile. I hope I can resume work on it soon but it's impossible to estimate a release date right now.

Right now, just a long list of features and improvements to implement. I plan on updating it after SDS2.
