Windows Seven & ShetchUP
-
I have been using SktUP7 on WinSeven for about 3 months now with a few problems the biggest one being that my tool windows have mostly disappeared ( about half). They are turned on yet are not visible. i run two monitors and thought that some how they were being pushed off the viewable area but i disconnected one of the monitors, turned it off through the software thinking that it would force all app windows to reorganize, but that did not have any effect. I am using a quadro3500 video card. any thoughts on this?

hmm... I've been running Windows7 since the beta on dual monitors. I've had no problems with SU.
I've heard about some similar issues on Windows (any version) and dual monitor. Can't remember what the trick was to recover them though. You should find some threads around the forum.

I have never had this problem (maybe partly because I don't use dual monitors?) although have already lost a couple of them and the solution was that they were off my desktop somewhere. Have a look at this trouble shooting tip by Gully here:

hope it will help. -

what is your main monitor, i.e. monitor #1: the left or the right one?
if the right one this effect might have something to do with having negative screen coordinates on the left monitor.
flipping them, i.e. changing the left monitor to be the main monitor should then fix this problem.

One thing I have learnt the hard way is that the best policy is to upgrade OS, software and hardware at the same time so that all the elements are from the same generation of technology development. In IT terms even a few months is a long time and forward and backward compatibility holds no guarantees which often leads to expensive downtime in trying to get things to work.
I guess I'm sticking to XP while my Dell holds out.

try turning your resolution down to the lowest setting. Errant stuff will usually reappear. That is what brought back a missing RPTools menu on my old machine.
