      Hey guys,
Just wondering if you guys think this should be part of the next release.

When using Scenes [which I do 100% of the time] and creating a new layer that SU identifies the layer as either:

      • In the current Scene only
      • provide option to share across all scenes

Maybe a simple prefix be added to the new layer or as per the points above.

After requesting TIG to update his SectionCutFace script, http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=20564 I realized that I am forever toggling scenes and turning off new layers which is a pain in the $^$#$@!.....

LO2 has the option now after a few request during beta testing SO maybe SU needs to catch up....
      What do you think?

      Just Curious...

I think you can do this easily already. Find the 'add hidden layer' plugin; that adds a layer that is hidden in all scenes. All you have to do is turn it on in the scenes where you want to see it. I use it a lot. You might want to hack the plugin a little to make it add a layer hidden in all scenes but the active one.

Scenes already maintain lists of which layers to show, of course

I keep coming back to your post. How about this:

A table of Visible checkboxes. One row per layer, one column per scene. Context-clicks that make it easy to turn all on/off by layer or scene. Preferences setting for adding scenes/layers for all others. Default (and only choice) now is that a new layer is on in all other scenes. Definitely useful to have a default-to-off ability.

BTW TIG updated his SectionCutFace script and now the new section cut (more exactly its Layer) is only added to the current Scene.

                thanks for the ideas, guys.

@ Tim - I do use 'add hidden layer' a lot as well; was just thinking that seeing LO has the option to control layers per page then so should SU....
@ Martin - not a bad ideas but I think an easier way would be this. When you add a layer in the layer manager a dialogue appears [as it does in LO] to control visibility in the current page or across all pages. Simple as that!!!
@ Gaieus - re: sectionCutFace. see my first post!!!!

thanks again guys, thanks for sharing ideas.... πŸ˜‰

I've not tried this myself, but it looks like there's a lot here:
