Dynamic Opening Doors

I am trying learn how to create dynamic components. I want to create a door which rotates on its hinge but I am having a hard time figuring it out. I've tried reading tutorials but apparently I'm not finding what I need. If anyone has a layman's description of how this should get done, please let me know. Thanks. William

You might want to take a look at the self-paced tutorials on dynamic components that Google put in the 3d warehouse. They give a pretty good overview of the steps required.
