there are a number of mirror tools around - all the ones i have tried reverse the object when mirroring in 2D mode (2 clicks + return).

is anyone able/possible to fix this?

If you use my 'Mirror.rb' script you can pick 1, 2 or 3 points.

If you pick 3 points it'll mirror fully about the plane on which you have picked 3 points: 1st and 2nd pts [say on the mirroring line] and the 3rd vertically above the 2nd will do what you want...

It's not something to be fixed, I assume you are simply referring to another function - namely Plane Symmetry.
Look carefully, with two points specified in the 3Dspace, what you showed in the pic is the best they (CAD) can do.
If you want "Copied to scale -1" type of mirroring, you have to at least specify three points or two points and an axis.
Of course this is not the case in 2D CAD though.

Hi TIG, that is true - i was thinking it would be fab not having to turn into 3d view to do it..

Takesh, thanks for clarifying - i wonder if the script 'knows' the view plane, perhaps it would behave in '2d mode'
