I've been drawing a model of some strange dog and I'm almost finished but I don't know how to add lines on his hands and legs

This is how it is supposed to look like

And see this is close up of a hand it is missing those three lines. How do I add them?

I tried with just pen but it doesn't work.

Could you maybe tell me where to find this "'lines on surface" plugin? I looked for it on google sketchup page but could not find it.

Menu > View > Hidden Geometry will show hidden/smoothed edges so you can edit or snap to them.
With them showing you can now draw lines onto the surfaces to make new areas and then add another colour to these 'stripe' faces... There's also a plugin called 'lines/tools on surface' that lets you do this more easily... Remember to switch off 'Hidden Geometry' when you are done... Make sure your Style includes showing edges !
