HELP with wall textures
-
Hello guys!
OK. It really sounds kinda dumb, but the tittle is right... I am really having some trouble trying to make some nice walls textures. Nothing fancy, but really normal painted walls or maybe like those textured painted walls... Do you guys have any hints for me? I am really lost and dont know what kind of reflection, refraction and other stuff I should be looking for to make my walls (internal and external) look nice, be them white or colored...
Any hints?
thanks a lot guys!

Well, SU has no reflection, refraction, or very much other stuff. So in straight SU, you just put a color on the wall and its done, hooray! If you are exporting to a render-er like podium, or v-ray, etc., then you'll need to specify which renderer you use to get more in-depth answers.

You don't want refractions. That only works for glass and transparent materials.
As for reflections, there isn't a set rule for this . It all depends on the material you want to simulate. Got any specific example? Screenshots?
In general, all materials got some kind of reflection, often it's a very glossy type. Adding a very glossy reflection can some times be enough to make it pop it little as it picks up a little bit more of the surrounding lights.
