Okay, I followed the instructions and put various "scenes" in SU,
i.e. floor plan, foundation plan, sections, perspectives....and then I go to LayOut and there are only half a dozen or so choices not typically the one I just saved...is this a limit within this application?
I also seem to have lost the choice of "ISO" within my views...
trying to create some working drawings in LO,
maybe this is a trick this pony doesn't do that well.
thanks for your insights and experienced perspectives.

    and on another note:
what is the difference between :SU "send to LayOut", which seems to only launch LO, and insert in LO, and wasn't the insert function more for "characters or symbols"?

    thanks

After you added the scenes to your SketchUp model, did you save it? Then did you update the references in LO? You need to do those things to make the scenes available in LO.

Send to Layout does open LO and paste in the last saved image from the SU model. Insert is for inserting other stuff, like other SU models and images (JPGs, PNGs, etc.)

You shouldn't be limited on scenes. Verify a couple of things:

        1. In SketchUp, scenes are updated as mentioned earlier, and the model is saved.
        2. In LayOut, you're using the model you think you are. Go to File->Document Setup and look at References. Make sure that the model's status is NOT "Embedded". If it is, relink to the model you want. Also make sure that it's not out of date (via Update).

Lastly, "Send to LayOut" should either bring up "Choose a Template" in LayOut, or launch a new tab (Windows) or separate Window (Mac) with your model if you have a default Template selected. It will insert the model on an Inside Page, not the Cover Page, as this is what most people want. If you want to insert a model on the Cover Page (or any other page of an already opened document), then use File->Insert.

Let us know if that helps.

Thanks for the reply, I will endeavor to research how I am not doing it right.
I had a deadline, so I cobbled my way thru and got some prints out, my files are a mess, but the prints are at the Building Department....
I would really appreciate your insights,
if it is possible I would be willing to post the files and glean your perspectives as this "model"
has too many versions, the outliner crashes when I try to organize it, and I have way to many versions of "autosave-autosave-autosave-model"...
          thanks
