The thing that helped me show (sort of) good manners here in the SCF was remembering that behind all those curious avatars are real people. And a good resource to understand this were the old issues of CatchUp, which contained interviews with moderators, ruby writers and others. I can't find the link to these old issues right now, but I think they are priceless for newcomers.

I wish there was a link to these issues in a more visible place, as they also contain the single best tutorial on using Subdivide&Smooth and Free Form Deformator.

the title of a topic is supposed to tell you in a few words what to find in the thread (although I have to admit that my titles are sometimes a whole novel ).
most topics on this forum need help. of course you could put an 'Urgent!!!' behind the description and remove it, once the problem is solved or help no longer needed. but state what you need help about in the first place.

with the star idea: maybe we could add a little flashing star-icon to the smiley list, that would be cool
