Connect aray to an arc?
-
I'm using SU for the first time and I can't seem to figure out how to connect an aray of slats to an arc that I made. What I'm trying to make is a garden bench that has a contoured seating surface. My aray is in a straight line and the arc obviously isn't. How do I connect the various objects in my aray to snap to the curve on the arc? I have attached the skp file to help explain what I'm asking.
Thanks,

I dont really know of any easy way of doing this, you basically just have to move and rotate each piece in to place.
It might be slightly faster to draw a rectangle for each slat on to the support bit and then push pull it.

Try using the Copy along a path script from the Ruby Depot
It is call Pathcopy.zip or pathcopy.rb
You have to create the slat as a componant and the you can get it to rotate (I think)
Edit: You might want to get 'weld.rb' from the same page, this script allows you to join lines together, this will help if you have a long curved section.

If you have access to Adobe Illustrator, you can use the customise brush tool to create the slat profiles along a curve, and then import the results into SU.
