LICENSING ISSUES

My license version 3 ended with-ALM. This was purchase directly from SketchUp.
My license for 4 has ended with -ALM. This was purchased directly from SketchUp.
My license for 5 has ended with -ALM. This was purchased directly from SketchUp.
My license for 6 has ended with -ALM. This was purchased directly from SketchUp.
Evidently their work to migrate everyone over to -ALW didn't include me. I have never purchased SketchUp from anyone but @last.
I will try one more freakin' time. Thanks Gaeius.
Edit: I have try to fill out that damn form three times and it keeps giving me an error message about a "bad request" everytime I hit send. Damn this is frustrating. Please @last, buy the company back from Google!

Jeff,
As far as I understood, ALM is a perfectly current license number ending for the Mac version purchased directly. M is for Macintosh and I guess many remember what AL must stand for...

Yep, should be fine Anssi. I don't know why they don't send me the key, reply to my emails, technical assistance forms or call. I offered to reverse the charges. I have receipts for every upgrade from version 3. Don't get it. Yea, I know, they're busy. Me too. I'm also out 90 bucks.
Only difference I can see that would cause this is now it's Google instead of @Last. Sucks. If my email is kicking it back, which my IT staff assures me is not happening, then they should call. They have the number. Right Jody?

I had problem to upgrade on the wizard, my licence was "SKU not found"
I had the answer to-day from SU : my 6.0 licence was bought with @last, and these licences are not included in the actual data base. So the problem should be solved within some hours

Just received the key. They didn't say anything about the database issue, they said the first one bounced. I really don't know why. If you google guys are reading this, send me the bounced message so I can decipher the error.
Thanks Gaieus. Thanks Angleret. Thanks Google.

I purchased an upgrade to our network licenses last week Monday and got the auto-reply and no auth code yet. (I've been checking the junk email folders.) Our serial number ends in -ALW. I contacted sales through the web page yesterday and got another auto-reply.

Hi!! i am very very happy , tomorrow i will get my sketchup 7 license for the work. Before i pay the student pro license but i can convince my boss to buy it jeje , it only takes me like a month of work showing him good and fast sketchup results.
We can't authorize before because i download the wrong SU version or something, the technic support guy just figure out the solution today. Well i go to sleep, tomorrow i will post my favorite design in sketchup, my grade ring.

Not an issue yet - but will be in about 3 weeks when I migrate to a MacBook Pro from my PC.
I've emailed and formed on the Google 'sales' site several times now with 0 success.I want to have everything ready to transfer - so I need to swap my license from PC to Mac (or run in XP in Bootcamp... which I'm trying to avoid).

you dont have you use bootcamp, you can use a virtual machine instead, so it runs from within the mac interface...
but thats off topic.
i havet upgraded to v7 yet as i detest the fact that they'de made it backwards incompatable

Huh?
My SU 7 can write SKP files back to version 3 (6 years ago) and Autocad files back to version 12 (around 1992 if I remember right)

I went ahead and bought Google SU7 Pro, received an email telling me I purchased it, but so far no license sent. Is this standard? I was thinking a license would be sent in the first hour or so, but now it's over four hours. Anyone shed any light on this situation? Much appreciated.
Oh, I should say I've checked all my spam filters (gmail) and nothing is there, either.

I wouln't worry after a couple of hours only - maybe after a couple of days...

I downloaded and installed the version 7 Pro upgrade and now SU stops working every few minutes and takes a really long amount of time to get anything done. I ordered my educational teacher license (?) using the links provided but the vendor hasn't sent me a license, code, key, or anything.
Should I uninstall the Pro version then install the free version until I get the license from the vendor?
BTW, I'm REALLY enjoying the new features w/7. MEGA-THANKS!!!
-
Hi Brad,
Leave the pro in trial mode. It will decently downgrade into "eval" (with the features of the free version) after 8 working hours but you can always activate the license afterwards; any time. (Installing the free version ON TOP of the pro wouldn't change anything though)
Keep kicking your vendor's @rse...
If you are concerned with the poor performance, it won't matter if you use the free or pro versions (as they are practically the same) but should check some system problems.

Does the location have any impact of how fast it goes to get licens through? Living on the westcoast of USA.
When I bought my upgrade from SU6 pro to SU7 pro I had an email within the halfhour with the new licens-code.
However, I experience the SU7 pro slower than the previous version and also the component library (from Google/sketchup) is a pain to work with. Can't find as before a complete architecture libraryto download, even though I have used the walk through provided by SketchUp/Google. Any suggestions how to get hold of those libraries.Have a nice weekend everyone.

And I live in Middle Europe... But I don't know how it would be affected by distance. Certainly, during the very first days after the new release, there must've been big traffic at Google's.
Now as for your component libraries; why don't you copy all you used to have (and I suppose still have) from SU 6 to SU 7? (from the components folder under the SU application in Program files).

OK, It's going on 5 days now and I still have zero answers from Google. I'm still waiting for my already paid for SketchUp 7 upgrade registration information. I've tried contacting them 4 times now through the contact information they gave in the receipt email. I use Gmail and have checked my SPAM.
Does anyone have a phone number or a different way to get in contact with the Google SketchUp folks? I have to say, I love SketchUp, but I'm quickly growing to hate Google support.
TIA,

i have v6 and v7. didn't realize they weren't backwards incompatible... until i send files to folks with only v6. but i need the options to play with the dyn components and i'm enjoying (somewhat) the improvements in layout.
i'll try running it via vmware fusion - is that what you are doing?
i'll still need to boot into xp for autocad when i need to do some heavy lifting on the 3d side. until i test my worst case i won't know if an emulator will be 'good enough' for me.that said - google finally responded and set me up with their 'sales' number for when i need to contact them about handing over $50 to transfer my license from PC to Mac.

While SU 7 files aren't backward compatible, you can always save your file in SU 6 format from SU 7. Certainly dynamic components wouldn't work in SU 6.
