Articulation during animation
-
I think i can think of a way of getting them to open slowly using section cuts. Wouldnt look great, but would probably be ok if you didnt look to closely.
-
Heres quick demo.
The shutter sections and support bits are all in a group.
In the 1st scene the section cut at the top of the group is hidden and inactive. Then in the second scene It is hidden but active. You can change the timing by changing the scene transition time (window->model info->animation.)
-
I forgot that you can also put partially open blinds in layers and create about 8 very short key frames showing the blinds opening.
(I seem to recall that there is a ruby script which lets you assign particular times to key frames)

Wow - amazing work remus!

Wholehearted borrowing of the idea from someone else, though

Dear Remus!
Most of the people here having learnt SU by themselves and from the wiser people on the forums, we could (almost) all say this.
Knowledge is something very rare (maybe only love is similar): the more you share and give away the more you have.

youve lost me pilou...

For gradually hide all the circle
-
Does it possible to apply the same Section cut Plan Remus'trick at this form?
-
Ahhh, i see. Ummm, i dont think it would work. I havent tried it, but as far as im aware the movement of the section planes only works in one direction.
-
the problem is that the Cut section can be revolved but can't be reduced to a part of size!
So the circle is trimed from side to side
Can make that will be a cool feature!
But there is maybe an another trick tip
A double double Cut section following with inversed states?
Not yet found and some headaches -
Of course make like Dik here is possible but it's classic and painfull
