I often use Listview for my Component Window as I findit easier to locate by name than thumbnail. But in the view it's impossible to distinguish folders and components.
It would be nice if there was some indication such as an icon. And it'd also be very good to have all folder at the top of the lsit instead of scattered around the list.

I think this would be a very good idea, would be good in the materials browser as well.

yes, that would be fantastic. if the Google guys add collapsable components on top of that, everything is perfect (you know, when you have a house-component, you can collapse it in the component window, so that all the windows, doors and stuff are hidden. when they are expanded (and you see them assorted in some sort of tree structure) you can choose the sub components and reuse them in your model as normal. in addition to that you can define some important subcomponents as a favourite. like that they will show up as a seperate one at the top of the component window)

Guys have you seen the free RPS component selector and search facility.http://wiki.renderplus.com/index.php?title=Select_Component

You have to download RP Tools as Space Design (which is the free part) has been combined with RP Tools. When the 30 day trial period expires your left with the free Space design tools, such as the component selector.

              Jakob,

If you import a omponent with nested components inside (instead of developing it in your current model) it can already be collapsed/expanded in the Comp. browser. Certainly I would wish this to work with internal components too.

              Gai...

thats true, Gaieus. but unfortunately you don't see any connection from parent-component to sub-components. so if you expand, your component window is clattered with items as before...
