Office Lobby WIP

nice render indeed. freaky floor. looks like its really whet. is it something stony or is it more in the direction of linoleum (sorry can't tell, cause my screens at the office are not too good)
-
thanks...its a polished concrete..maybe a little 'too' polished..haha..

Jason,
The last one is great (even with some minor issues you pointed out). Can I ask what are your render times like? What SL are you running at?
Scott
-
I think that one was like 9 hours.. .hit around SL 17... i think the combination of glossy WHITE materials and the translucent plastic on the laps is really contributing to the noise i'll pay closer attention to the time/SL on the next one.. might try creating a blue ags material for the lights to help with the noise..
-
guess i'm stuck for now.. had this issue last night but eventually resolved it.. keep getting 'ERROR: Render Failed" everytime i try to render from studio.. really frustrating...
-
-
and here's the 'final' for my client.. could've been clearer..but that glossy white wall plus the emitter up against those translucent pieces of the light really killed it.. this output for like 17 hours and hit an SL of 17.. i'm not sure there was much differce after like 10 hours though..
she shot down the cowhide rug..haha..but i might do one for myself with the rug in there
-
jason looks good
-
Nice job on this, it looks great , although I think I prefer the red material you used for the lights in the first render.
-
It looks great, as usual. If you do re-render change the seating to black leather to match the Holstein cow rug.
-
good idea, steven! for which chairs?
i like the red better too... buuuut, blue is the company's color so blue it was not sure i'm a huge fan of these fixtures in this space.. a little big..i had to shorten them way up just to fit them in there.

Great work Jason. A little noise to clear up but nothing a little time wont take care of.

I think there are too much noise on your rendering and the tiling of pattern in the doorway is very obvious....
You need to smooth out those guest chairs to make it look realistic and those flowers in the table are not helping your scene at all.allanx
-
yeah, i dont think that noise is ever going to go away..not with all of that glossy white and those emitters up against that translucent plastic.. maxwell hates both of those things..haha.. yeah, that tiling is bad...but kept forgetting to fix it

have you tried Kerkythea with metropolis light transport render method? ...I've had less noisey solutions in less time with metal matls...of course I have a dual quad core machine.....it is interesting and thought provoking to see others rendering sketchup models with all the same trials and triumphs using unbiased methods too.....just curious if there was a time/quality difference.......looks great though....
-
have not actually ever tried kerky.... i'm pretty limited in time/motivation to learn new programs....haha...and there's oh so many out there that i'd like to play with.
