Okay, I have another question about textures, is there anyway to place textures on a model but on separate faces. So I have a chair that I downloaded, but the arms, the stand and the fabric are all the same white texture, can I get a different texture for the arms the stand and the fabric?

You have to do that in SU. Then you can tweak your different textures in Kerkythea but you cannot split anything by geometry there once they have the same texture.

Kerkythea makes difference between everything only by texture, not geometry.

          Gaieus is right...!
You need to apply the textures to the geometry in SU...
This is also known as UV Mapping... ๐Ÿ˜‰

Once you've applied a texture to your model, you can replace the texture in KT...
Please also see page 16-22 in the Getting Started tutorial... ๐Ÿ˜‰

Same applies for all other render applications as far as I'm aware... ๐Ÿ˜‰

I think you can adjust texture features on faces and groups in Podium (well as far as I remember from about a year and a half ago ๐Ÿ˜„ )

Podium is working inside SU, so you still adjust the texture in SU... ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yes but can you move your model from kerkythea to sketchup. Because otherwise, those chair models I just downloade were completely useless because they are all the same textures all over.

                      No.
                      Plan ahead. ๐Ÿ˜†

But the merge function might help you...
You can export a second chair model with proper materials from SU and merge it into KT (File > Merge). You can do the same with lights, cameras, whatever you like.
Try making a search for more info. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I want to use the chair models i downloaded. I cant open them in Sketchup because it is just a .mod.zip with crap that SU cant open in it. I dont want a chair that is just white, i want different textures on different bits, whoever made the model was a bit of an idiot if you can only have the chair in one colour and not different colours for different bits.

The models are made available for you to use free of any charges, so please show a little gratitude or find your own 3D models... ๐Ÿ˜ก

If you had just spend a little time, you would be able to find the models made for SU...
You can get the models from the Fritz Hansen Content thread... ๐Ÿ˜

Sorry if that came out wrong, I didn't mean to call the guy an idiot, what I meant was it's stupid not being able to have materials on the model.
