I downloaded the indigo plugin. The installation says to copy the skindigo file to the sketchup plugins directory. I did that. It says copy the skindigo.rb to the plugins directory. I did that. It says copy the SUpreviews folder to the "Indigo" directory. I don't have an Indigo directory so I made one and copied the SUpreviews folder to that.
Then when I open Sketchup, it shows a window asking for a *.exe file and I can't find one.
So, what am I doing wrong?
-
I do not use Indigo so cannot check for you, but does it not mean just copy the SUpreviews folder straight into the main Indigo folder?
I could be completely wrong, but soon one of the Indigo users will pop in and help out.
-
That's the problem. I did not have an Indigo folder until I made one.
-
You should download both SkIndigo (the exporter for SU) and Indigo (the actual renderer). Indigo.exe is in the latter folder.
Have fun with it! Good app.
-
I still don't get it.
I have a downloaded zip file called Indigo 1.0.9 which has the files "Skindigo" and "SUpreviews" and "SKindigo_1_0_9.rb".There is no "Indigo" directory.
So, I'm back to where I started.
I understand that the the program runs within SU. Why is an exporter needed?

Hi rogerra!
Once you unzip Indigo, you should have a directory called something like indigo_v1.0.9. There is a file called 'indigo.exe' in this directory. That is the file that you must locate when prompted by SkIndigo.
SkIndigo is an exporter plugin that is well integrated into SU. Indigo is an external renderer that is independent of SketchUp. SkIndigo exports your scene to Indigo but it happens behind the scenes.

There is no "indigo.exe" in any of the directories I have after unzipping the SKindigo.zip file.
I also have the SUpreviews.zip which does not have an .exe file.
I downloaded the files from the Indigo site.
Maybe I just need to stick with KT.

When I downloaded indigo (not skindigo - I know the difference) and tried to install it, I got an error message that "it is not a Win 32 application" so I simply could not install it. Anyone any idea what's happening? Maybe a corrupt download? (Also, it took forever to unzip the program,

Did you download the 64 bit version by accident perhaps gai? probably worth trying to re-download.
And you shouldnt have to install it. It just runs straight from the .exe file, no installation needed.
-
Well, first of all (before downloading), I looked around a bit and I read that there is only a 32 bit version at the moment (I might be wrong though). Then I guess I made sure to download the good version but who knows?
Yeah, I guess I'll download it again just in case. I just don't really have time on week days so it will be at the week-end.
Another "problem": I registered at the Indigo Forums but have never received my confirmation email.
Sigh... I know I'm a troublesome person...
-
neither did I. I am still waiting for the registration mail...
-
Im not sure whne you were reading aobut ti, but theres definetly a 64 bit version at the moment.
-
Frederik,
Thanks for the link. I'll download the Indigo file and see how it works.

Always download the latest stable release of Indigo and SkIndigo from the 'Main Downloads Page' on the Indigo website.
There are 64bit builds available so make sure you don't donwload them if you are not using a 64bit OS.
I think the website could be better organized to avoid this confusion. Downloading the wrong version is a common problem...

Thanks for all the help.
I downloaded the correct file.
I then put all the extracted files into the SU/Plugins directory. When I opened SU I located Indigo.exe and now everything works fine.
Now all I have to do is learn how to use the program.
-
Thanks Daly, I'll download the files again and this time I'll make sure to really download the correct ones.
And thanks for looking ibnto the forum thing, too. -
Hi All.
Rogerra the unzipped file is the indigo folder. When you copy this into the plugins folder it becomes the folder indigo_v1.0.9_3 (at least that's the version i have). This is the folder to place the previews file.
Hope this helps -
I have done all the steps to install Indigo but when I open SU and it asks for the exe file (which I am able to locate)...once I do this I get an error saying "permission denied"
