    Hi,

I couldn't find the energy to come up with a title for this thread so I just numbered it πŸ˜‰.
Hopefully you will like the image.

All Sketchup, except for trees and people off course.

    Regards,
    Kwistenbiebel

Shoot...I made an error. Off course this should have been in the gallery.
Don't know why this happened. 😳
Could a moderator be so kind moving it to the gallery section?
          Thanks....and sorry for the confusion.

remus is right - now you made me really hungry for more!

I see our beloved "on surface" and "jpp" tools came in handy... πŸ˜‰

What is a bildong? I think I might be afraid to know the answer. πŸ˜‰

Great render Chris! I would have called it "The Arc's Landing" or some such thing.

Not the renders that strikes me (we are getting used to Kwists rendering abilities) and maybe not even the modeling part ("we are getting used to it...") but the idea, the concept!

Really great! Please, more of this kind of fantasy creations! I just LOVE them! πŸ‘

love the form 😎 ...could you tell us was it difficult to extrude window frames on curved surfaces. I guess surface tools and new JV push -pull was used.

                              Thank you guys πŸ˜„

Indeed, the "surface tools" and "joint-push-pull" tools were used here to make those windows.
And off course 'subsmooth' (though I think it should have had one iteration more).

                              @Frederick,
I just used the 'projected' method. It stretches the texture but it was not so disturbing this time. It depends from which angle you project the texture I guess.

how did you get such beautiful wood paneling? i mean in terms of projecting it onto the building (a really good building btw). did you project it at an angle (set up a face at a 45 degree angle instead of flat front or back)? like this:

                                  ../ __________
                                  ./ |.building.|
                                  / .|________|

the three slashes on the left = face from witch the texture is projected
box = you guessed it, is the building.
little tiny dots = nothing, just ignore them.

                                  am i right?

The genius switch has no "off" position
Intelegence is natrual, it takes real effort to be ignorant

Thanks Nomer ...An Ark, didn't think about that πŸ˜„

I re-rendered the last view using Physical sky. (Indigo render)
The subtle glare is added 'internally' in the Violet tonemapper.
The glass should have had a little less roughness...

                                        Thank you Fred and Igor.

@Igor: You are correct. I projected the image almost perpendicular to the 'corner' of the building (as in your scheme).
I must admit the projecting is view dependant. Choose another viewpoint and the projecting needs to be redone.
