Pdf export scale is incorrect
-
this is driving me nuts:
I can "print" to .pdf at a desired scale successfully, but exporting (2d file) to .pdf is coming out at a screwy scale, somewhat smaller than it ought to be. I've tried selecting/deselecting the "match view size" with no luck. I used to able to do this but I must have lost the touch. Help much appreciated. -
Steps for successful PDF (or EPS or DWG) export to scale:
- Select Parallel projection (Camera menu)
- Select one of the standard views (Camera menu or toolbar button)
- Set your export scale in the export options and export.
- When printing the PDF to paper, set Page Scaling to None in the Print dialog (assuming you are using Adobe Reader), the default is Fit to Printable Area
This should get you a correct print within the tolerances of your printer.

Anssi I have copied your post over to the Tutorials Forum.
It is a question that gets asked quite often. Thanks

thank you for the reply
these are the steps that I am taking, so I'm still confused. For instance, when I "print" to pdf, everything is fine, my 9 m object gets scaled down to 4.5 cm (1:200 scale). But when I "export", it comes out about 4.2 cm--- just a bit off. Any further thoughts? -
I've finally figured it out: you have to also make sure that you're in hidden line mode. shading will throw off the scale when exporting to pfd. in hidden line, works like a charm. surprised no one mentioned this as a possible solution.

Hi, I tried everything that has been listed on this thread, and I also tried hidden line mode. However, it is still exporting 2D image in a wrong scale. What else can I try?

im a bit of a computer challenge person haha so can someone reply for me please i appreciate your time. -
betod, your profile indicates you have SketchUp pro. Use LayOut to do what you want to do. Make the required scenes in SketchUp. Make sure you have the camera set to Parallel Projection Then use those scenes as the viewports in LayOut. Set the scale as needed.
