As a follow up I can say that I finally managed to install MysticThumbs by downloading and installing Ghostscript first and then MysticThumbs. I'm still a bit annoyed that they haven't bothered to answer any of my support requests.

Yes indeed, the EON17-SLX series is a serious piece of kit. My problem is that I want Apple to produce a 'serious designers laptop' apart from their 'skinny for all lappies'. It looks like it will be up to others to create add-ons to get the job done and this appears to be happening currently with the likes of OWC's DEC and the HyperDrive Thunderbolt 3 USB-C Hub for 2016 MacBook Pro http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=72%26amp;t=6369%26amp;start=270

I find them VERY useful for being ONE SU feature, which I don't want, that is only for Windows.

I don't have any direct experience with the new gen MacBook Pros, but from a reply I gave to a similar query on the other forum: I have a late 2014 13" MacBook Pro with the following specs: 2.6 GHz Core i5 (4th Gen / Haswell) 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 RAM Intel Iris 5100 integrated graphics It runs SketchUp well and drives a Dell U3415W external monitor without any problems or latency. Given that the Touchbar model is two generations newer for both CPU and GPU, (with associated increases in speed/power) it should work well. The 13" model can drive a 5K monitor with a single TB3 cable, the 15" can drive two. I wouldn't worry about Intel integrated graphics compatibility — there have been associated issues reported with Windows PC's but never heard any from recent MacBooks. Maybe because they use the higher spec'd Iris graphics (vs the lower-end HD graphics often found on PC ultrabooks)— plus you don't have wonky driver issues on the Mac, which support the latest OpenGL spec. Sorry for the cut & paste, but hope the info is marginally useful.

Top of the range Surface Studio has a GTX980 (GTX965 in the others) in it? Seems like someone didn't keep up relations with nVidia seeing that the GTX1080 was released a good few months ago...

Have a subscription for 2 years for pix4d. Strong mature and reliable tool. Neber the less switching to Bently's ContextCapture for their LOD algorythm and crisp models. Another contender is RealityCapture, faster and as crisp. However, not a mature software yet.

That's the old Titan card. But thanks anyway. It's actually the enclosure I'm looking for at the moment. BizonBox2 has one but its so short they have to open up one side for it to fit a Titan card. Doesn't look like a stable solution to take with you...

Earlier I was testing different software for controlling my desktop computer with the help of laptop in my living room. I found the best one to be Anydesk when considering performance and quality. I actually use Sketchup and Unity3D with help of this remote software. Anyway, I have not really tested Anydask over the internet. http://anydesk.com/

@unknownuser said: Affinity Designer is a vector editor like Illustrator not a raster (photoshop etc) No seems the Windows version has also basic principal raster Pixels functions! Not all like Toshop (will be the next Affinity Photo Mac & Pc) but yet something ! [image: vPy8_Pixels.jpg] Very cool! Use the speedy Tools... And the PDF format export can for example be using for Moi3D then Export to SU! [image: UuWy_raster.jpg] http://vimeo.com/113375504 [image: gear.jpg] [image: GIF_gear.gif] [Affinity Designer + Affinity Photo] will be a big [Toshop + Illustrator] challenger at less [90 €] ! These are probably all (or mostly) high polycount models. SketchUp doesn't fare well with high polycount models. Unless you have something like mootools polycruncher (or similar) then these will probably be mostly useless in SketchUp. Great discount though. Personally I hope this type of thing happens more often, but just with things that I can actually use. Oh yes, 74GB download? dangggg....
