    • Bolt Threader Plugin

      Hey guys/gals. My name is Jason, and I'm wondering... I have tried several times to draw threads in sketchup for pieces that I intend to screw together. However, after every attempt (even the semi-successful ones), I'm too frustrated to play with it much anymore. Between having to draw the scale much larger, and then scaling it down to the proper size, when I attempt to join the threads with the piece, it butchers it up so much that it makes it more reasonable to draw each individual thread, and that's just not practical.

      My question is, does anyone know if there is a plugin in the works to where one can click on the area to be threaded, select the pitch/etc, and just click whether it is a female thread or male thread (meaning, a few thousands are removed to allow proper threading in real-world dimensions)? I was thinking, I'm not quite smart enough to write programs, but man, that would be a God send for me. I imagined a program with standard metric and SAE sizes, but also, the ability to input custom sizes for finer thread applications. Thanks for any help!
