why is that man throwing me the finger?! lol
anyways, I like the rendering, really well set up. The lights above the paintings seem a bit blurry, not entirely sure why, I might colour them a little cooler?
other than that great image!
Love it, looks great!
one question though... will you be able to get away with those horizontal bits on the handrail? I'm no master of building code, but I've heard you can't do that...
I, too am also curious about the exterior treatment!
keep it up and post the updates!
Thanks for the kind words guys!
unfortunately I am unable to play with the materials at all... They've already been decided... I do agree however that the area behind reception requires some work, maybe a little post production faux lighting... humm!
Hey guys,
Heres one of my latest ones, I've been working on this for a really long time (they keep redesigning it!)
anywho, comment, and critique much appreciated (and please be very harsh with your crits, I want this perfect)
okay, well hopefully everyone has heard of Tatu, a teen russian ... band and ... show ahahah
one song on repeat.
Fergaliscious
Thats all I need. Ever.
Okay, I may be kidding, I listen to a lot of the Tragically Hip, Reel Big Fish, Breaking Benjamin, Benny Benassi, Tiesto, Techno, and rock in general!
25 hours in photoshop is a long time, but for how seamless that image is, I would say it was well spent! I could see some PS guru's toning that down to maybe 15, but those are the guys that are absolute pros... I would consider myself an average to above average PS user, and I think that would take me around 25 hours to do
Hey,
That is amazing! I had to flip back and forth to just to find what you had done it looks so real!
If I were you, doing that for $1000 seems about right, I would maybe charge a touch more, even...
great work!
EDIT:
Craig, I think he means that it took 25 hours and he charged 1000 dollars. Comes out to 40 an hour... which is a little low for this quality of work, but I would be very happy with that as a client or the renderer.
I use firefox absolutely all the time. but it is a good idea to check out how your site will look with safari etc, I have always used opera, firefox, and internet explorer for that
Thanks for the tip!
Boo,
Come to Calgary, you don't need to have a portfolio to get work, you need a pulse and breathing is optional! Seriously though, we need talented people like you to get up here and help decrease the workload on everyone else!
As far as portfolios are concerned though, my preference is to keep them strictly proffessional, with no other flair than the work that you have done. A simple title, and short description of each piece of work. I would not include any text that is more than a short paragraph, after all, they will probably be reading it in front of you, and would rather ask you questions.
If it is a simple design, with simple colours, I would recommend drawing over the scanned image in something like illustrator, or Photoshops elusive vector capabilities. That way, you can scale the image to whatever size you like, whenever you want!
question, did you use a downloaded style? if so, what one, I rather like the look of those sort of sketchy edges!
looks like a great place to be and have a few! thanks for sharing!
Here are my babies, presented in a very un-glorifying photo. I love them both, and they serve me very well.
I also have a red 1994 VW Jetta (which I hate) and a 1981 240 DL Coupe Volvo (which I love)

I really like that style, I wouldn't mind picking up a tablet... how big is the tablet you bought? because I've heard its really hard to do with a tablet smaller than your screen...
Keep up the great work! can't wait to see some more images!
Tom,
I can never get enough of your work! I love this image, the colours all flow very naturally, and it really feels like a great watercolour. The vibrantness, everything, its perfect!
Now, That cutie, do you know her, is she single, and does she want a date with a Canadian boy?
pretty funny, I'm not much for the mac humour though,
MS Paint is capable of recreating some pretty stunning images... proving that it is all up to the artist

I've attempted to make the windows glow with the yellow colour, and a second layer with blurring (to simulate a radiosity effect) on top of it... I'm kind of at my wit's end as to how to make them pop more without taking them into Kerkythea... which would make the snow and trees etc even harder...
humm... I really like the falling snowflakes that you did, they look great! how did you do that? I think, however that the scene may be a little too dark... I also love the snow that you put on the ground. that looks like just a white brush with a couple effects, and the opacity turned down?
Thanks!
over here in Alberta, Maple syrup isn't so popular! I have only eaten it off of snow once, when I visited Montreal, and I wish we carried on that tradition here!
I need this building to look like 'the place to be' during the winter, a warm and cozy social centre. Think of any image you've seen of a ski resort, with the main cabin etc
