The joints must have some value. A slider ranges from 0 to 1 X the range + the min value.
Can't you access that value to reference in another joint's controller?

All good ideas and I'll put it on my list. But I don't think it will make SP3.

Are you sure?? I dunno, I made it ages ago. Worked fine until I selected the whole lot and used the rotate tool. Maybe I scaled it afterwards...
