I don't know a thing about cartooning in SU, but I really enjoy seeing the multiple applications of SU.

RE: Draft a house in wooded area Update (16 abr 13)
Those are the prettiest set of drawings I've ever seen. There was a lot of work put into those. I hope you got paid for the equivalent of your time.

RE: Great News!
Ha! I'm still "Honey Dear" and loving my new grandaughter! Thank you!

RE: STEAM PUNK
I love steam punk. My brain does not think like that, but I can really appreciate the work and craft that goes into this style of rendering. Someone should give a tutorial on how to do them. Hint, hint.

RE: NPR digital watercolour
I am also a huge fan! I love the warm underpainting. How did you do that?

RE: Kitchen
This is really good! Great job and great comments above. What stood out to me was how harsh the lighting is on the back splash. I would soften that up a bit.
Nice work!

RE: Number 22
The sky seems a bit dreary on the house renderings. Thanks for sharing!

I like the style & clouds they work well on a communication level.
Yes, I love the clouds as well. I've not seen that done before. Great job!

RE: Sofa and armchair
Great work! The only think I noticed was that the reflection from the light is on top of the couch. It would not show with the lights behind it.

Great News!
Just wanted to share some great news with you!
I have been appointed the Executive Director of [anchor=ASAI - American Society of Architectural Illustrators goto=http://www.corezerocreative.com/sketchucation:m2s5wp1h]ASAI - American Society of Architectural Illustrators[/anchor:m2s5wp1h], effective July 1, 2013. I am so excited!
Over the next couple of months the ASAI office will be transitioning to Maine, and will be operating alongside the Core Zero Creative architectural rendering production studio. Along with the typical duties as Executive Director and my production schedule as an illustrator, I will be representing ASAI at industry venues such as, the AIA convention in Denver and the ASAI annual conference in San Francisco.
Are any of you going to either of these events? Let me know, I would love to meet you in person!

RE: Highschool Sketchup
What a great idea! I had considered an architectural project/town but not to this detail. This is great! Thank you so much!

Highschool Sketchup
I teach a Junior High and High School computer class. We are going to start a project in SU in January. Thought I would pick the community's brain about what you think would be a good project. It needs to be at a beginner/intermediate level and my vision is that while they'll work on their own individual projects that they will actually be building a model that will be parts of a whole. Make sense?

Thank everyone! I appreciate it!

...One criticism would be in the closeup the background is too near in value to the roof. Might look better to lighten background some.
That is a really good point and one I agree with. Although, it is common in the area which this house is built for designers to do that on purpose. There are some areas where builders only have 3 or 4 choices for stucco colors and they will virtually match the mountains exactly! And some areas which even only allow a 4-5 foot profile to be shown above the natural landscape.
Thanks again!

RE: Community Clubhouse
There have been several phases of design in the last couple of years. Here are a few select renderings from the project.

RE: What is the professional term you use?
@chris fullmer said:
I think using the term architectural at all is too narrow. Architecture only scratches the surface of what we can do. They (architects) already have big heads, no need to let them feel like they own all the designer's as well
I think for some it might be narrow, but for myself, that really is what I do. I may model some various components for my renderings, but I do not sell that as a service to my clients.
