CALL FOR ENTRIES - Architecture in Perspective 29
Thought I would let everyone know about the opening of the Architecture in Perspective competition.
The American Society of Architectural Illustrators and John Dollus, our 2014 President, invite you to submit your best works to Architecture in Perspective, a juried international architectural delineation competition that has included work by the most accomplished contemporary architectural illustrators from around the world. The selected pieces from the competition will be included in a traveling exhibition consisting of approximately 60 pieces of artwork selected by a jury of respected professionals from the fields of architecture, illustration, journalism, and design education. This exhibition travels to various venues throughout the U.S. and overseas.
Architecture in Perspective (AIP), is the annual international competition and exhibition of the American Society of Architectural Illustrators (ASAI). AIP furthers the Societyโs objectives by selecting its membersโ most outstanding work and presenting it in major venues worldwide over the course of the year. Selected artwork also appears in the AIP printed catalogue and on the website.

What, did you stop by the SU booth? I was there all Thursday but didn't see you. Are you still out here? I'm guessing you've probably headed back to the NE corner of the country.
Chris, I was totally there! I sat through a presentation AND talked to John Bacus at length. Sorry I missed you. It would have been fun to meet IRL.

If you're going to be in Denver, make sure to go to Casa Bonita...
Bummer, didn't make it there. Will have to plan it for next time.

Hey David, I'll be there! Are you exhibiting?

Denver Anyone?
Just wondering if any members are either in Denver or going to the AIA Convention this week. I will be here all week representing the American Society of Architectural Illustrators. I would love to connect!

"acidic" is commonly used to describe colours like that. I wasn't saying the image is acidic, but rather the green.
Thanks for clarifying Oli. I had not heard that before.

RE: GUYS AND DOLLS
Thanks Dave! I saw that link, but didn't realize those were the SU files. Neat project!

RE: Little cabinet for jewelery
I think it's a good start. I have just a couple of suggestions. I know it was meant to be simplistic, but some pictures or a sculpture on the wall above the bed would be nice. It's so stark. Also, the sheets look plastic rather than comfy and something I want to crawl into to take a nap.

RE: Kitchen Island Storage
Really beautiful rendering. My only suggestion is that it seems so dark? I tried to imagine myself cooking cookies at midnight for my daughters class the next morning. I would be worried that I might need a flashlight to prepare something.
I love the shelf over the island. I wish I had one of those!

RE: {NPR} Recent Project
Jason, Go for it!
David, It was quite a compliment the first time I saw your renderings and thought, "Hey, I do that!". Hee hee

RE: {NPR} Garden Barn
Wow. I certainly had no idea this rendering would cause such a fuss. I put it up for kicks to see what the comments would be. It is not my usual style, but thought there may be a tip or two out there to make it better and give me something to play with.
I am thankful for all the comments. I am always striving to do something different and have better technique. I will say that I do prefer the details of what needs to be worked on rather than "sorry, but it's very poor." That doesn't give me anything to work with. Thank you for elaborating in later posts.
I find the words "poisonous" and "acidic" odd choices of words? Not words that I would usually use to critique someone's drawing but again, I appreciate the input.
Thanks everyone!

Wow that is great news Tina! Congratulations and thanks for sharing!
Chris
PS I'm not sure who will be there, but I'm sure there will be a few members of the SU team at the Denver AIA.
Chris, I hope to see you at the ASAI conference. Maybe you can make it to a couple of the sketch tours.
