thanks everyone...all your ideas really help. I too use "zoom in" really close to help with placing things exactly where i want with less snaping in some cases.

thanks! appreciate the imput. I do like the snap to...i was just wondering if there was a way to control it. I actually use all the time.

I am fairly new, about 6 months...but do alot of modeling so far...but I was wondering if there is anyway to turn off SU's ability to always wanting to "snap to" a line....etc.
