RE: Reflections
What Mike said, it's like taking a peek over your shoulder, I think it's flattering most of the time. You're great by the way!

RE: Bedroom
Hello John, the rendering time was around 1.5 hours on a quad core 2.66 GHz, but I didn't made high resolution images.
Cheers! -
RE: Bedroom
WOW, thank you all for comments!
Really made my day!
I tried to achieve nice materials mostly, the lighting is nothing special. All the small objects ware imported, with some modifications, especially the bed. I think I made the headboard from a tufted chair from the warehouse, the bed cover and the pillows are from here: http://www.sketchuptexture.com/2013/09/free-sketchup-model-double-bed-11.html
The plant is from the warehouse as well ( I think is made by Andeciula). The curtain it's giving me trouble every time, because is 2sided material, an most of the light is coming through there, resulting some nasty artefacts. That's why I apply some king of glowing effect in post-production on windows.
Thank you again for such nice comments!
Regards,
Stefan -
Bedroom
Hello everyone, I spent some time with this project, pushing Sketchup and V-ray to the limit. I'm amazed I can handle these 100+ Mb scenes without crashes like I had in the past.
I did just some glow and vignetting in post-production. I'm still using Fernando's technique (no sun in GI environment, but default lights-sun- checked in global switches )
Cheers,
Stefan

RE: Any smokers here? Wanna quit?
Thank you Oli,you are a gentleman!
It's heaven and hell with all of these clones, but there is a market for every product. If one have the money, there is no reason not to buy the original.I guess is the temptation to have a "kayfun" at half of the price.
And by the way, did you try 100% cotton? It is a very popular set-up with a micro-coil. They say the micro-coil is "indestructible"
Cheers! -
RE: Any smokers here? Wanna quit?
Hello everyone, cheers Oli, I need to ask you a favour. A friend of mine, really want a Russian 91% aty. It's a perfect clone of the kayfun. I told him about your experiences with the Kay and how great it is, and he is most concerned about the set-up and how's the liquid consumption. Can you tell me what wick and wire are the best, and what is the best set-up for it? Or can you direct me to a good review/tutorial for a "perfect" kayfun set-up? Thanks!
This is the "culprit"it costs 82.91 Euro, and it seams it delivers just like the original one.

RE: Any smokers here? Wanna quit?
I forgot to celebrate yesterday! It's been 6 months since my last cigarette.
I'm still using my Ego's, and yes, I want something better, but I'll go strait to Provari, when I'll have the budget. I had the chance (money) to buy cheaper rigs, but no thanks.
How's everyone doing? Gareth, how's vaping for you? You have been so quiet these days.
Cheers,
Stefan

Glad to see you are still living smoke-free! How many months is that now?
Ooh....I can be very exact with this....I have a banner on a forum I visit, and looks like this right now
I think I quit in the same day with Pete, 5 April!

RE: Any smokers here? Wanna quit?
At the bottom line, I find myself being an idiot because I start smoking in the first place, so I can understand the point of view from a non-smoker.
In the meantime, I got my Davide glassomizer, the mini version, not the one from the images I put in my previous post. Looks great, feels great (is heavy), vapes great, just like the evod. The price is around 15 euro. The best thing about it, is the pyrex glass, and the removable drip tip, so you can use your favourite one . Some spare glass tanks will be available soon, with different sizes and colours. I flood it in the first half hour, because I was pushing through the drip tip some napkin( old habit from the evods, in order to remove condensation). All my evods will have a brake, so I'll test it heavily in the next days. Here are some pictures I have taken this morning:

RE: Afternoon Coffee
The bold colours make it look surreal. But I love every pixel in it!
Congrats! -
RE: Ceramic house
WOW! Thea is brilliant in the right hands!
V-ray....be afraid.... -
RE: Which 3D software should I choose.
3ds max is the standard not because is the best. You should think about productivity. If you need a 3d model, a tutorial or some sort of plugin,it's there. I tried modo 401 and I loved it. The modelling part I mean. The render engine was great for everything but not for interiors. Maybe now it's better.

RE: Any smokers here? Wanna quit?
I'm thinking to buy this guy, but the mini version, to fit my ego's. It has a pyrex glass tank, it's glue free, and works with evod or protank resistance. It's chrome plated brass, not stainless steel, but for the price ( costs like two evods) I think it's brilliant.
I'm sorry I don't have it, to make a good review, but I heard only good things about it. At the end of the day, it's just another clearomizer, with bottom coil, and it does what is suppose to do.
Gareth, regarding the mod, just go with the provari, because you'll end up with one sooner or later. It's the standard, everything on the market is compared with it.
Be careful with the nicotine, I was a red marlboro smoker, so a 24 mg strength nicotine was perfect. If the nicotine strength is not enough, you won't find satisfaction, so the need for cigs won't go. I'm on 12mg now, and I think I'll go for 8mg next month.
Good luck!
Here is the image with the clearomizer I'll buy next:
PS: It's called " Davide Glassomizer"

RE: My first run of vray 1.6
Guys, I love to use IES lights all the time, and I remember when it was hell to me to set-up v-ray. Spend many hours on the web, trying to find solutions. I got A hint on Nomeradona's awesome blog, where it was something about units. The long-short story is, I work in mm, but when I'm using IES lights, just before I hit the render button, I switch the sketchup units to inches. I don't touch the IES parameters. Everything looks correct.
Here is an example:

RE: Kool Future/Retro Art.
Brilliant artists out there. I find amazing, the way he (this guy) understand light.
Good find! -
RE: I quit
It was about time! You (and others) are the developers of SketchUp for some time now.
Congratulations!
