Hi Tim,
To add a bit to Barry's comments, if you're having trouble getting dimensions to look like you want them to, there are a couple of ways to change your dimension style in LayOut:
#1 Change the style of an existing dimension
- Create a dimension.
- Select the dimension.
- In the Shape Style panel, choose the stroke line weight, color, arrowhead type, etc that you want to use.
- In the Text Style (Win) or Font panel (Mac), choose your text settings.
- In the Dimension Style panel, choose your units, precision, and location/orientation of the text box.
- If the dimension still doesn't look like you want, you can double-click on the dimension with the Select tool. You can then select the individual lines, and change their style via the Shape Style panel.
Or
#2 Set the Dimension tool default
- Select the dimension tool.
- Follow steps 3-5 above.
- Create dimension...it will use the settings you choose.
Hope that helps,
