Our house was divided as it always is when when Federer and Nadal play. I've been a fan of Federer since the beginning of his career, when all the comments about him were "He'd be unstoppable if he could keep his emotions under control", and sure enough... now he's the picture of coolness, even under the gun with his biggest rival. You could see he was seething and that last mistake he made to lose the championship, but after a few minutes you could see him looking at Rafa and celebrating his happiness. Needless to say my bride is smitten with Rafa...we've followed him his whole career as well and he's really grown into a man, yet he still acts like a teenager when submitted to an english interview.

The great thing about the rivalry is that they're so different on the court. For BubbaLove's benefit: Federer reminds me of Joe Montana, not big at all, but always cool and in command. He can make any shot most of the timeโ€”Nadal has the ability to run down most all of them. At the end they were still both going at it like they could do it for another three hours.

Nadal reminds me of the great linebackers...take your pick. He's coming for you. He's relentless. Lawrence Taylor.

I can't wait to see them head to head on a hardcourt. I'll be cheering for Roger of course, but you gotta Love Rafa.

Sean, I get my podcasts from itunes, but they originate from Podshow.com. Just checked that site and they're on a channel called "Old Time Radio" natch.

I listen to podcasts too but only a few. Mostly old radio programs and tech talk. When I do go to music it ranges from prog to '70s and '80s pop. I also dig bubblegum from time to time. Yes I admit it. Truthfully the music on most '60s bubblegum singles is very well played.

oh, and Pandora. just type in a band or artist and enjoy the ride!

    • RE: Joke time in the new bar!Posted: Wed May 16, 2007 2:02 pm

A couple was in marriage counseling, and the husband was being passive-agressive; he was sitting down, arms folded, saying nothing.

The wife was standing, yelling at him, cursing at him, calling him every name in the book.

When the therapist had had enough, he stood and walked to the woman, took her in his arms and planted a 45-second french kiss. The woman sat down, bleary-eyed and speechless.

The therapist turned to the man and said, "That's what she needs, twice a week."

The man said, "I can have here on Tuesdays and Wednesdays

    • RE: What activities do you do?

I've never been much of an athlete but we (the marital "we") played tennis almost every day until we adopted our daughter in April. Until she's old enough to play with us, or at least not run out into traffic while we're at the court, we'll have to give it up ๐Ÿ˜ž

In the meantime I've set a new strength goal for myself: 50 one-arm pushups. So far I'm up to almost one. ๐Ÿ’š

I have no idea how it works, Ross. I assume it record the raw number of returns on a given search. You can search for "night" and "day" and get a response.

It's not scientific by any means.

Put "sketchup blog" in quotes and yours will be first, almost guaranteed.

another fun thing to do is go to googlefight.com and see how sketchucation stacks up against...well any other website, really.

edit: according to googlefight Sketchucation and smustard.com are neck and neck in hits. But FormFonts is doing much better, probably because it has such great credibility. Good job, Coen, Alan and the rest of the FormFonts modelers!

    • RE: I don't know

I have used it (the demo version) for facial reference before, and I think Alan has played with it too.

I toyed with buying the full version a few years ago, when I was doing comic work, so I could save character heads and be able to position them, even change their expressions. But it's marketed to 3d game designers and is therefore too expensive for a hobbyist. But it's so fun to play with...the demo can be a real time waster.
