      Hooray & Aarghh!

For the umpteenth time, I've tried fixes & re-downloads of Sketchup Pro 6 - always getting the 'catastrophic Failure' message.

However, today I downloaded Sketchup 6, and ended up with Sketchup 7!
Amazing, but it installed and works fine, even though it cost me another £51.00.

      That's the good part!

It comes with Layout2 & Style Builder, neither of which work - 'encountered an error....'
Shall I make a new post?

Sorry for the delay in responding.
I tried all of the suggestions, including the amendment to the installshield reference.
My machine is an AMD Athlon 64 x2 dual core processor 4200+
      2.2 GHz, 2 Gb Ram
      XP Pro SP3
      Nvidia GeForce 7100 GS

    • Catastrophic failure upon installation

I've found it referred to on a couple of occasions, and I've got the same problem.
It doesn't actually indicate what the failure was - it just scomes up with:

      Feature transfer error
      DefaultFeature:
      Component:
      File:
      Error: Catastrophic failure

I had a severe crash, installed a new (better) mother board, a new (better) processor, and re-installed XP Pro.
Now I can't re-load Sketchup 6 Pro, even though it installed on the old machine.
I'm the administrator, I've installed all the latest drivers. Cleaned out the registry.
      I've checked that it's a good download.
I've even tried installing Sketchup 6 (free). Same result.
So I'm now in a position where I paid a few hundred dollars for a program I can't use (on this machine, at the moment).
Has anyone recently resolved this problem?
