RE: Adobe ditches Creative Suite
Even in ten years...
The end of personal computing.
Then comes the big brother. -

The end of personal computing.
Well, we'll see about it. -
RE: Ray harryhausen, passed away
Thank you, nice video.
Clash of the titans, the medusa, is one of my favorites.
Just compare it to the remake... -
Ray harryhausen, passed away

The king of cult, of bizarre, passed away at 92.
Here's a scene
A cathedral, fire, a T-rex. It has everything. A masterpiece of cult art. Bizarre and a little provocative. -
RE: Adobe ditches Creative Suite
The end of adobe. This what they can do.
Just reminds me this.
"They want to be the agents, not the victims, of history. They identify with God's power and believe they are godlike. That is their basic madness. They are overcome by some archtype; their egos have expanded psychotically so that they cannot tell where they begin and the godhead leaves off. It is not hubris, not pride; it is inflation of the ego to its ultimate β confusion between him who worships and that which is worshipped. Man has not eaten God; God has eaten man.β

RE: Music - which format is best?
Flac is the best compressed format you can have.
Still, PCM format sounds a bit better though. (wav, aiff, SD2, PCM etc )
Of course, a 24 96 or 192 sound format is much much better.
Being a mac user, indeed, iTunes under OSX is a superb playback device, but not the crap that itunes sells around.
And, yes, I have a very very expensive HI End system here. (still professionally mixing and mastering works of some friends)
Nothing to compare with the already mentioned setups on this forum.BTW, indeed Pete, vinyl sounds great, if you have the appropriate hi end player and the original vinyls. Else, better not. A 24 96 format, using HiEnd equipment like A to D converters, phono stage (valve based-better) etc, can capture most of it on a digital format.

RE: Re: Some Funny Pics.
No, don't delete it Oli, Not yet, please, I have to show it to some friends first.
Female friends, particularly.
@boofredlay
he doesn't look like a pope though. More of an orthodox russian bishop. -
RE: Wut R U Listening 2 ?
After Imogen
Imelda May and Jeff Beck.
Jeff will always be my favorite guitar player. -
RE: Joy of painting!
Congratulations Majid. Good luck and my best wishes.
Indeed, watercolor (my favorite medium) is all about simplicity. More is less.
No need for complicated methods. A washed area, surrounded by darker colors becomes a nice lightened shape.
The basic principles on compositing. What else?
BTW, What paper are you using Majid?
Just reminding it (to others), the basic medium in watercolor painting is the paper! A colored paper in the end. This is the magic. -
RE: Beauties of Iran (other face of Iran)
Very nice, impressive images, from a beautiful country.
I had to wait for loading, a lot. Only 20% of the images are loading though.
Majid, I don't think this thread gonna work. For technical reasons only. -

Awesome, indeed ! I believe she knows very well how to play but if she would play that way, then all the goodies she played won't be available because she has to move her hand real quick from a regular position to slamming, moving and rotating her hand over the strings.
Please, be more careful next time. All of you.
It's he, not a she. -

RE: Sculpt using UVs and displacement maps
Thank you Pilou,
And thank you, thank you, thank you.Meanwhile. I tried for a very low poly version, friendly to VG engines. And to SU I guess.
~15k faces, just to have a rounded enough cylinder. The trick is to use an ambient occlusion map combined with bumps. It's fake but almost does the trick. -
RE: Sculpt using UVs and displacement maps
Thanks, Oli, Sid.

RE: Sculpt using UVs and displacement maps
An interesting link on architectural applications (CNC) http://www.michael-hansmeyer.com/projects/columns.html?screenSize=1&color=1#1.
A friend from zbrush forum posted it (LVXIFER), so I repost it.
and a new one, just testing the use of normal maps instead of displacements.
Results to very low poly bases. Can be imported even on VG engines.
