Hi Remus
Was just wondering, Is the image you've shown the result of some analysis you carried out in SU ?? or an image taken from other software and applied to the terrain as a texture. Many Thanks as You responded to my post regards the potential measuring of gradients. TIGs script does the job nicly.
I've been working alot with terrain and roads and wondered if your image was the result of gradient analysis.
Many Thanks
Matt
Hi All
thanks for the info...
that may well do it,looks perfect. i've had that plug in for ome time but not noticed that option before,
many, many thanks

Hi all
Been a awhile since i posted... so hello again
this may be completely unfeasible but thought i'd give it ago. I need to measure the gradients on some of the roads i have on a large terrain model. Or say on any slope in a model. You could do it one by one the old fashioned way. But was hoping somehow the slicer tool could be used. Would it be possible for a script to do this??
i.e to check if the roads are feasible say at 1.20 or if not, to what extent they need to adjusted.
Or does any body know if these can be done in any other software.
Played around on this in the past but dont think it will work..

Thank you very much.
I'll keep an eye out for any developments.
Many thanks

Excellent Script. Many thanks -- works a treat for me!!!
I must commend you also on another of your scripts that i find invaluable at work. It’s your slicer ruby. It comes in very handy for working out the floor space across very large masterplan massing models. It has saved me so much time. Thank you. im not sure it was ever intended for this, but if you set the floor to ceiling height say 3 metres, but don’t give the slices any thickness, then run the script across a large grouped area of buildings then explode the floor slabs within the main group, by using the area tool with all faces within that group selected you get a total floor space for that whole area. You may have to delete the top slices so that you don’t include the roofs. But very, very handy indeed.
Whilst using your most recent roof script i was impressed in the way that you could assign a material and a layer to the new roof.
I have a request.
(Not that your not bizzy enough as it is)
Is it possible to implement this within in the slicer ruby? So that the when you create the new slices you have an option of also assigning a material to the new slices. In this way you could have separate materials for residential, commercial and retail space. This information regarding the areas assigned to the materials could be then exported to an excel sheet. Giving you a detailed breakdown very quickly regarding your model.
Once again many thanks
Both the mentioned scripts are excellent.

Hi All
Im still having problems using the plug-ins. As i mentioned earlier its using the multipliers, time delay ect.. When i export an animation. Its results are often unexpected, usually really slow.
Has anyone any experience, tips or advice...? Im after a smooth animation about a minute long, the model is quite complex, masterplan with terrain. Is this attainable.
thanks.

Hi Rick
I think I found the problem. My fault......I've got stacks of rubies in my plug in folder. Been meaning to have a clean up for some time. I found 3!! old versions of the flight path plug in buried away some with em-flightpath. I now have the options.Target etc… when i right click and goto flight path.....
I'll have a play around and get back to you if I have any problems.
Many Thanks
Matt
Hi Rick,
I made sure that im using the the correct flightpath.rb and emailed you the error that came up through the contact sheet. So this is probably the issue.
I understand the notion of metres per second, its the scene timing, mulitplyers, page delay and transition times between pages that I find confusing. Are these in seconds also??? Once i get everything working im sure it will make sense.
Many Thanks for your help.

Hi Rick,
~Thanks for reply... But When i right click on a bezier curve i dont get the 4 options, and the page smoother i cant make sense of. played around yesterday for sometime but just dont get it.
When i right click on bezier curve and goto flight path i just get a request for the metres per second then it asks if i want to reverse? then just one scene is created.
Any advice??
Thanks
Matt
Hi all
Any info availiable or tutorials for using the prsentation bundle 2 from smustard. what with all the forums moving at the moment its hard to find stuff.
I've got alot of experience doing animations with SU and normally just work by eye and trial and error to smooth it out but thought i'd give this ago.
Many thanks
Matt
Hi Biebel,
All very good images. I'm impressed with the fryrender ones. Unless I've missed something i cant seem to find the plug-in or exporter for SU on there website. Where abouts did you find it?
Any info would be appreciated
Thanks
