      Daniel,

The building itself is pretty close to a 50% split between office space and truck storage. My fault, I meant the truck storage half would be classified as S-1 instead of F-1. It falls under motor vehicle storage as long as they are not going to be performing any type of work on the vehicles.

      Thanks

      Jim,

I guess you missed my original question.

I already know all that stuff you explained to me. However, my question was based on my description of the use of the building, I'm not sure what my actual use group will be. I'm fairly certain that it will be a mixed occupancy (B and F-2) but I have a hard time believing that the IBC didn't take into consideration a Fire Department or Ambulance Association when developing the guidelines.

      Thanks
      Matt

I actually just got off the phone with them a few minutes ago. Just checking a few different ways. You never know how fast you can get information out of those guys.

I'm in Pennsylvania, so we are using the 2006 UCC.

      Thanks

    • Another building code question.

I'm currently working on a local Ambulance station. Half of the structure will be offices, sleeping quarters, kitchenette, training area, and restrooms. The other half is garage for trucks, an office, mechanical and utility rms., and another restroom. I'm having difficulty finding out what the use and occupancy classification would be for something like this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      Thanks ahead of time.

    • Building Code Question

I have a building code question for everyone. I am in Pennsylvania (using 2006 IBC). We are working on a school with a science lab in it. Does anyone know of where in the code book it points out any restrictions on a laboratory located within a Group E Occupancy?

      Thanks ahead of time.

    • RE: Can't get my new Graphics Card to work.

I just came across this on Visiontek's website. If anyone is interested in purchasing this Graphics card with a Dell system you should beware that you may have problems. Apparently visiontek is aware of it and are trying to fix it. The card I'm referring to is a ATI Radeon 512MB AGP. There are several other cards along the same lines as this with the same problems.

    • RE: Can't get my new Graphics Card to work.

      Well Paul...

It's definitely an AGP port for my Graphics card. I went into the BIOS and the only options it gave me was to switch it from AGP or Auto. I switched it to Auto with no success. Went into the control panel....removed all hardware from the old card...shut it down and put the new card in. The new card still has power but the monitor will not turn on and I'm not totally convinced that it's starting up windows either. I'm starting to believe that my power source is the culprit (only 250 Watt).

      Thanks for your help.

      Paul,

The old card works just fine every time I put it in. When I take the old one out and put the new card in, it gets power, since the fan runs perfectly. It's just that nothing comes up on the screen. I pulled all the cables out and reseated them several times with no success, and cleaned the connections to the AGP slot. I think its a problem within the settings somewhere and not a physical problem.

I took the old one out and replaced it with the new one. Should I go into the BIOS and deactivate the old one before removing it?

      Paul,

      Some answers to your questions...

It's the initial Dell Bootup screen that doesn't show up.

I do have an existing Graphics card in the AGP slot and it's an ATI Rage I believe. On another note, my power supply is a 250W. Could that be the culprit?

      Thanks for helping me out.

    • Can't get my new Graphics Card to work.

Can someone please help me out. I bought an ATI Radeon X1300 Graphics Card to replace the original in my Dell. When I put the card in the slot it does not recognize that its there. The monitor just stays blank. I have a Dell Precision 340, Intel Pentium Processor 1.70 GHz and running Windows 2000. If you need to know anything else about it please let me know.

      Thanks
