here's two houses i recently modelled for an architect on the west coast... had a few tricky parts to em...
and a section...
thanks for the tips guys..hdri would've definitely made it a bit nicer...although, i have difficulties with it and it always makes my images super dark, no matter how bright i make the hdri
hey, the wheels are painted the tires..yeah, no excuse for them..but hey, it was like 15 mins of work.
...just found this old image on my computer... and since i havent been doing ANYTHING interesting lately, figured i'd may as well post something old. i think someone posted this awesome model of the smart car on the old forum and i threw it into a model of manhattan i had done... and then played a little in maxwell.. could be better..but it was quick..
i live in the city so i try to ride this as much as possible..its sans stickers now and alot dirtier..this was like a year+ ago when i had just finished building it..
but when i have to drive.. 06 pathfinder..
and then there's the track car (90 vw corrado) my buddy and i are building...
ink to the build thread: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?i ... 108&page=1
great vehicles, guys!
I contacted him regarding this, a couple months ago.... he had found some cheap overseas help on it though
yeah...that's what i'm saying...owner permission. i honestly dont think it'll help what with what he's doing anyway.
..but i have 'faked' a larger manhattan model by going nuts downloading stuff from 3dwarehouse...there are ALOT of manhattan buildings on there.
i've got a couple blocks of low rise buildings i was hired to model from photos.... not sure that's very helpful though..and not sure i'm 'allowed' to share
yeah...i NEVER thought i'd ever go out on my own..never wanted that insecurity....but here i am..haha..
I make a living (I think you can call it that..haha) with sketchup.. modelling and rendering... and also working with another architect or two doing a bit of design/drafting in acad. I worked full time as an architect, and did the modelling/rendering at night for like a year..and when I had a pretty steady client-base... I took the leap and quit my job... I did have somewhat of a guarantee of the autocad work for a bit, so that helped my decision and kept me afloat in the beginning. Who knows how long it'll last, but I've been on my own for over a year now and work keeps flowing in...it was definitely helpful to be in the business for 5 years and make alot of contacts... fingers crossed... good luck to you guys!
yay mac..haha.. traded in my g3 iMac (actually, it died) for a 3.0ghz macbook... with boot camp installed... so windows xp pro is on there as well.... best of both worlds.
someone sent this to me yesterday....so awesome.
i too need to find something other than sketchup to do animations in
