...just found this old image on my computer... and since i havent been doing ANYTHING interesting lately, figured i'd may as well post something old. i think someone posted this awesome model of the smart car on the old forum and i threw it into a model of manhattan i had done... and then played a little in maxwell.. could be better..but it was quick..

beautiful rendering, I love the full color against the clay model.
I have an almost complete smart car in my archives...never did get around to completing it. Yours however is much nicer than mine. Well done.

I definitely cant take credit for the model of the car though

Very cool rendering Jason.
I think using a HDRI sky image in the background/reflection/refraction slot of the environment settings (Maxwell Studio)would definitely improve the reflections on the carpaint mat...For the moment it only reflects whites and pale grays coming from the cardboard surrounding.
Nice to see a clean Maxwell image.

Very Clean render, though the material on the rims of the car just doesn't look right . Nice city model though.

thanks for the tips guys..hdri would've definitely made it a bit nicer...although, i have difficulties with it and it always makes my images super dark, no matter how bright i make the hdri
hey, the wheels are painted the tires..yeah, no excuse for them..but hey, it was like 15 mins of work.

Jason,
In Maxwell, You can set the 'intensity' for each environmental (HDRI) channel.
For instance you can increase the intensity of the 'illumination' chanel to e.g 10 (instead of default 1) to get brighter output.
You can change the intensity levels for each channel seperately (doesn't have to be the same value for all).In this case, you can enable all the channels (= uploading the hdr in the refraction/reflection/background channel)except for the 'illumination' channel and let the physical sky take care of the light.
Cheers,
