Good work Chris. You've undoubtedly got talent and your blog has some fantastic stuff. Really like the composition and the frame proportions, and the overall shading is great. But in terms of NPR, you need to push it a little further. Decide what type of trad media you want to emulate and head that way with a bit more conviction.

RE: NPR Aerial Render Colored & Noir
Another great piece Allan. Been a fan of your work a long time. The colour tinting really finishes it off.

RE: LoftHaus 2 Remake NPR
Allan. More nice work. I wonder if you can develop a technique for getting glass reflection in there ??

RE: Beach House and 6622 House NPR
Allan. You really make this workflow your own. I think its fantastic. Like the different tints across the image. Is that all fotosketcher or a bit of photoshop.

RE: Restaurant
Great work Chris. Especially like your use of the black line layer. Line and render is a classic look from traditional methods.

RE: NPR again
Thanks Mike. You should post some of your work. As SketchUp goes you do some epic stuff and certainly make it work to its best for Architecture.

Cheers cadmunkey (fellow yorkshireman) and Richard. Are there any topics on terrain modelling you can point me too ?

RE: Create new textures for sketchup..
If I get you right PaOlo you want to know how to create a texture for sketchup like the example. In Photoshop or similar create your image on a new layer and make a transparent background. Then save as a png file (this will preserve the transparancy). Import that into Sketchup and there you have it.

RE: My first posted WIP
Good work Ryan. Not tried animation yet myself. Keep learning !

RE: Another "watercolour" from render
I'm a big fan of your work Jan, and this piece is full of all the stuff I like....texture, pared back detail, fade to the distance and subtle colour tinting. The only thing I'd like to see is the same line work you've got on the building applied to the path, hedges, tree parts etc. For me the line work binds it all together. I'd also just crop a bit off the bottom as you have the third vanishing point in play.

RE: NPR attempt
I go by first reaction. In this case I was impressed. You've hit on a light wash look which is exactly how watercolour can be used. The line work sits well back and the stylised trees work really well. I think you got it right. As for the sky, you should fade to a pale yellow in the far right...have a look at Thomas Schallers work
I do agree with Davidh about adding more to the foreground and creating that dark/light/dark/light layering with shadow. But you're well on your way. -
RE: Student project - Ceramic Factory
Excellent presentation board and clearly communicated from concept to proposal. You should have a great future in Architecture. Good luck to you.

RE: {NPR} Southwest style custom home
Hi Tinanne. Like your style here very much and the rest of your work at Core is really strong. My thought is that if you could work on the glass to get more depth and reflection you'd have a perfect look, and the buildings would blend a little more into the landscape.

RE: Sketchup with handmade sketches
Tony. Hand drawn plans and elevs pasted on like this really work for me. Its a very efficient way of creating 3D concept sketches and to keep the whole design process moving. Its also an easy step to get hand rendering in there say with coloured pencil. Just use the SU edit in an outside program thing. I'd cut out the glass areas though.

RE: Some recent renderings...
Brad. I can tell you enjoy this style of image and it pays off. To push them to the next level I'd say you should knock back the black line from the model a little to blend more with your entourage, but the big one for me is to fill the windows with life. They really are the eyes of a building and need to sparkle. Reflections / blinds / curtains, maybe a clear view through windows on other elevations. It'll make a massive difference if you get it right...which I'm sure you can.
In what ways do you use Painter Brad. Its a fave of mine

RE: LoftHaus 2 NPR
Like this a lot Allan. For digital watercolour you pitch it just right for me and the colour saturation is nice and punchy. Is there any free hand work in here ?

RE: Watercolour/NPR Dusk
Like this a lot. You could go for it a little more and loosen up if you really want to achieve the watercolour look. Reminds me of Thomas Schaller's work. good stuff
